Last week, WSP participated in a workshop hosted by Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services to help finalise the corporate plan for their new Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTD) Unit. Alongside partner organisations the Kirby Institute, The Fred Hollows Foundation, World Health Organization Solomon Islands, and Australian High Commission Solomon Islands, WSP joined the NTD Unit team and Ministry of Health and Medical Services representatives for the two-day meeting.
The NTD Unit will focus on four priority diseases affecting Solomon Islanders: scabies, yaws, trachoma, and soil-transmitted helminths (STH).
We’re proud to support the development of this vital Unit within Solomon Islands Ministry of Health and Medical Services, and extend our heartfelt congratulations to the NTD Unit team for their tremendous effort!
